Public Health Education

Megan is committed to sharing her love health and wellness with her community! After years of practice she began to notice similar trends with clients, and saw a need for public education in the form of evidence-based lectures on an array of health topics. 

Megan is passionate about anatomy and physiology and is currently undergoing another undergraduate degree, this time focusing in Health Sciences. 

Passionate about mental health, Megan works as a member of the region of Waterloo's Mental Wellness Network. The Network has launched the "Ways to Mental Wellbeing", a Waterloo Region initiative. Inspired by the “The "Five Ways" this movement outlines simple actions that have been shown to improve mental health and wellbeing. The actions were created to be memorable, easy to understand, and easy to personalize so that anyone can do them!

Fall Prevention -  30 or 60 minute talk  This is a talk will explore the health effects that falling has on the senior population. This presentation, accompanied by a power point, will discuss why falling is an issue in the senior population. Exploring the risk factors for falling and injury allows us to better understand the effect on short and long term health of sustaining a fall.

In this lecture we will identify how health is affected by prolonged sitting and learn more about postural pain; how it affects us and what we can do about it. We will cover a short stretching routine that can be done in the office as well as discuss other options for reducing stress and muscle tension. A period for questions will be available.
